Modern Enthusiastic Tracking - Three Fun Seminars
Three weekends of Canine Fun, Comradeship and Learning in the Northwest
Bow, Washington, July 24-27, July 31-Aug 3, Aug 7-10, 2015
The Pacific Northwest is well known as tracking heaven by canine scent connoisseurs because one can track every day, and there are no poisonous snakes, fire ants, ticks, fox-tails, or poison ivy.
Enjoy your vacation with your special canine friend doing what you both love to do and extend your stay with a tour through the Beautiful Puget Sound region (Islands, Waterways, Dog-Friendly Mountain Hikes, and much more).
Choose from three focused seminars or enjoy all three. The first lays out the foundation of field and urban tracking, the next focuses on intermediate & advanced tracking skills for the TD & TDX, and the third focuses on skills for the urban TDU & VST (and the CKC UTD & UTDX).
Weekend 1 introduces the fundamentals of tracking training showing both the novice and experienced handler how to train their dog for field and urban tracking success. An innovative step-by-step schedule for starting a new dog concurrently in field and urban is presented for the first time.
Weekend 2 develops the dog’s and handler’s skill for the TD & TDX. Learn track designs and exercises to teach each field tracking skill combined with lots of individual problem solving.
Weekend 3 focuses on the complex scenting conditions found in urban tracking and develops training techniques and handling skills needed to succeed in an urban test. Transitioning a TD/TDX dog to urban will be addressed as well as developing field and urban skills in parallel.
Each of the three weekends has a Friday extension which provides an opportunity to review the fundamentals & do early individual work. And each weekend extends to Monday to provide an opportunity for more individual work with Sil plus deep dives into track design & tracklaying, problem solving including motivation, and scent distribution.
Optional Saturday evening dinners will provide additional opportunity to socialize with your new tracking friends.
Come to one or more seminars; your dog will be glad you did.
